New Project: Lives of the Sahaba

27Nov07

In The Name of Allah, The Merciful, The Compassionate

Coming Soon, Insha’llah!

Lives of the Sahaba is a new weblog designed to translate the brilliant three-volume work Hayat-us-Sahaba by Mawlana Yusuf Kandhlawi (may Allah have mercy on him). This translation Insha’llah, will be done in a piecemeal fashion, sequentially posting hopefully medium to large-sized parts of the book, at regular intervals. The English translation will be done from Mawlana Ihsan-ul-Haq’s Urdu rendition of the encyclopedic work.

We ask all the visitors of Ekhlas, to visit, support, promote, and most importantly pray for this future project, Insha’llah.

  1. Asalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah,

there is already a (new) English translation by Mufti Afzal Hoosen from South Africa in 5 volumes. I would be more interested in further additions to the Sabil project. 😉

  2. Walekum Salam,

Alhamdulillah I own a copy of the 3-volume translation by Mufti A. Hoosen Elias Published by Zam Zam. But I’m not aware of any 5-volume translations of this work. Please do provide a link if such a translation exists.

But I don’t know which is the new one, the 3 or 5 volume one? I own the 5 volume one, I think the other one is newer. Sorry for the confusion, I didn’t know there was a second edition.

    Jazak’Allah khair.
