Tabligh

The Six Points of Tabligh
by Bilal Malik
In this short treatise, I will try to expound – with some detail – the six qualities [widely known as the Six Points] on which the teachings and practices of the Jama’ah Tabligh [or Tablighi Jamat] are based. To enumerate, they are: i) the Kalima [Phrase], La ilaha illa’llah, Muhammadur Rasulullah; ii) Salat [the Prayer]; iii) ‘Ilm & Dhikr [Knowledge and Remembrance]; (iv) Ikram al-Muslim [Honoring Muslims]; (v) Ekhlas [Sincerity]; and (vi) Dawah & Tabligh [Invitation and Conveyance]. It is said that in addition to learning them, acting in accordance with the Six Points facilitates the following of the entire Deen of Islam …

Asalamu alaikum brother Bilal. May i just begin by congratulating you on your wonderful piece of work detailing the 6 points of Tabligh. Mashallah, i have benefited greatly from it! My comments are all positive! Mashallah ,you have researched the subject very well and have produced many evidences (i have saved a copy to my hard drive so i can refer to it when needed…jazakamullah khair) to support the Jamats focus on the points.
When i was in Jammat in India & Pakistan we would really try really hard to bring these points into our lives and although quite difficult i have seen many brothers who have succeeded. Their deen is beautiful as a result. You have really done well in highlighting these objectives of each point
to compliment your amazing work, brother Bilal, i thought that it would be very interesting if you would consider collecting information about how successful the work of Tabligh has had in the world. It would great to read about the impact the work has had on individuals, villages, towns and whole societies because i have seen with my own eyes such transformations of character in individuals and societies that have blown me away.
I feel that there is some bad feeling towards the people of the effort which, in some cases is warranted, but on the whole, totally misplaced. If people could see, like Shaykh Nuh has, the impact our brothers have had, people would begin to love them as they deserve to be loved.
Inshallah, i am able to supply you with stories of such people if that is what you wish to do.
Thank you very much for your short treatise. If you don’t mind, i wish to link to it from my blog and also place your blog onto my blogroll.
One last thing, i really like the way you have written ‘Ekhlas’ in arabic script….i have been trying to find out how to get such a result for while now for my blog ‘Muhabbat’ without success. Is there somewhere i can go on the net where i can do this?
Jazakamullah Khair Brother Bilal

Walekum Salam Sidi Hamza,
I would like to express on behalf of everyone here at Ekhlas my immense gratitude for your kind and generous support. I definitely think your idea of collecting information about the Jama’ah’s impact on, as you said, individuals, villages, towns, and whole societies worldwide and offering it online is a great one. I will look forward to receiving stories, and corresponding with you via email regarding your idea. May Allah use us as a means to clarify the doubts of people regarding the Jama’ah. I absolutely do not mind, in fact I feel honored and blessed that you have linked to the treatise, and also to our blog, Ekhlas.
InshAllah, I will be adding your informative and insightful blog to my blogroll very soon.
Unfortunately, there isn’t any place online [that I know of] that does what I like to call calligraphics. However, I would love to write the word ‘Muhabbat’ for you in arabic. But before I do so, I need some general guidelines as to the color and size of the text.
Once again, I would like to thank you for your support. May Allah bless you in both worlds.
WasSalam,
Bilal Malik
Assallamu aliakum dear brother
I have been very impressed with this work, and i would really suggest you make it in a booklet format and actually publish it. It will be very beneficial and greatly admired and respected.
May Allah bless you and your family with goodness, as you serve His deen, ameen.
A great blog, i love your work, your design and your art work.
Keep it up!
Think about publishing it.
Assalamu ‘alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
All of brothers,
Our borther, Bilal, has written the six points of this work. This is the great work. We are in Indonesian, right now the da’wah and tabligh grows well. We want to share our writing to you, but the text is in Indonesian. Insya Allah, we will share the text related to our tabligh work.
Thanks,
Haitan Rachman
Assalamu ‘alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Allohu akbar!
How beautiful is this Dakwah Work.
Jazakummullah khairan katsiran,
May Allah travelled me to IPB sometimes in the future…
Wassalammu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
MasahAllah, this is indeed a fantastic piece of work and very encouraging. I would also like to emphasize that is it formed into a booklet maybe in the long-term.
It could also be updated with certain factors of ‘how to bring into your the way the classic elders used to state it i.e. Miyaji Mehrab (r.a), for those unfamiliar of who he is, he was the only mewati to be made part of the Shura on the demise of Hazrath ji Enamul Hasan Sahib (r.a). He gives an outstanding six points, nothing that we have not heard but the fainal conclusion of each point of how to bring into your life is outstanding.
Consequently I have been contemplating doing the “12 Principal Qualities Of The Prophets Emulated As Regulations In Dawah & Tabligh”, and I would like to request the support of the brothers here InshAllah. You can get me at azzam dot sheikh at gmail.com.
JazakAllah
Assalaamu Alaikum. I cannot express how happy I am to find your blog. I’ve been searching for bloggers who are not just muslims by name, but are indeed actual muslims, trying to live the true Islamic life based on Quran and Sunnah. Thanks to Allah I found you. It’s nice to see that you are trying to keep on the Right path. Loved your posts about Tabligh and Taqleed. Both of those issues are widely misunderstood nowadays. I’m also a Hanafi and trying to do the noble work of Dawaah and Tabligh here at Dhaka, Bangladesh. I’ve added your blog as a favorite. Thank you again.

Salaam brother. I’m very eager to see the Sabil project on the way again.
Walekum Salam,
Thank you and may Allah bless you for your kind words of encouragement. Sabil shall Insha Allah be updated regularly soon.
Salaam brother. I’m a regular reader of your blog. I’m writing to you through your blog cuz I couldn’t find your email address in the blog. What I wanted to mention is that the internet has now become a free and accessible medium where anyone anywhere can post their views about anything. As there are already many different sects and beliefs among Muslims themselves, the information regarding Islam has also become extremely diverse on the internet. So for a regular Muslim who is not much aware of the situation and want to learn more about Islam from the net, might easily get distracted from the right path. Same sort of diversity can also be seen in the Islamic/Muslim blogs. So what I was thinking is that if it’s possible to create a sort of community of bloggers/blogs which can be certified to provide authentic information about Islam. It doesn’t have to be as serious as it sounds. We know many Muslim bloggers in the bloghosphere who are representing Islam the correct way. These bloggers can form a committee the duty of which will be to verify different Islamic blogs about the authenticity of the information. Certain guidelines must be determined for the verification. Then, the blogs which are authentic would be provided with a badge from the committee to prove the authenticity. I might sound a little too serious about the matter, but actually I’m just expressing an idea, nothing more. Please share your view if you can. Salaam.
Assalamu alaykum w.w.
I’ve come across a wonderful website from which brothers and sisters can order FREE authentic Islamic books, some of which are written Maulana Saleem Dhorat Sahib from Leicester.
All they seem to be asking for is the postage cost/SAE.
Take a look…
